We are excited that you’ve decided to join us at Cornerstone ’12 and we are eager to see how God uses it in your life. To help you get the most out of the conference, we’re sending you this short preparatory devotional.

Consider Psalm 139:13-18

13 For you created my inmost being;

you knit me together in my mother's womb.

14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

your works are wonderful,

I know that full well.

15 My frame was not hidden from you

when I was made in the secret place.

When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,

16 your eyes saw my unformed body.

All the days ordained for me

were written in your book

before one of them came to be.

17 How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!

How vast is the sum of them!

18 Were I to count them,

they would outnumber the grains of sand.

When I awake,

I am still with you.

If this scripture is correct, God has designed us - has woven us together with love and purpose. Take time and list some things that you would say are true of you (desires, passions, abilities, gifts…etc.). Expand this a little and make note of all the various activities and affinity groups you take part in on campus.

Now think about Ephesians 2:8-10

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

The effects of sin have left a mark on all of our being. Even the things we excel at aren’t beyond its reach. But God is working to heal and restore us…to reclaim the design He has for us and our lives. He is a loving craftsman who created us and in Christ is recreating us. He is freeing us from the affects of sin so that we can know Him and participate in His mission in the world.

• List a few “good works” you’ve experienced God help you do recently.

• List a few “good works” you’ve sensed He may be calling you to in the near future.

• Now think about the list you made after the first passage…your created design. How

might God want to use those to be a blessing to those around you?

• Think about Christian friends on your campus or at home. How have you seen them use

their passions, skills and abilities to bless you or others around you?
